The U.S. Patent Office granted Electrical Engineer David Farrell and Licensed Professional Land Surveyor Thomas G. Pattison their first patent for their RTR or Real Time Ranging Technology on October 16th, 2018, U.S. Patent No. 10101435 for Radio Frequency [RF] Ranging in RF Opaque Environments. Their second patent, U.S. Patent No. 11035947 for Radio Frequency [RF] Ranging in Propagation Limited RF Environments was approved on November 6th, 2018.
Two new patents have been approved and are currently pending assignment of their Patent Numbers. Those are Application Serial No. 16875501, dated May 15th, 2020, for Radio Frequency [RF] Ranging in Propagation Limited RF Environments Utilizing Aerial Vehicles and Application Serial No. 17230210, dated April 11th, 2021, for Radio Frequency [RF] Ranging in Propagation Limited RF Environments.
An additional patent for Radio Frequency [RF] Ranging in Propagation Limited RF Environments Utilizing Aerial Vehicles, Application Serial No. 17584117, was applied for on January 25th, 2022, and is Patent Pending.
RTR or Real Time Ranging Technology is a new foliage penetrating radio wave based technology which allows land surveyors, civil engineers, building contractors, landscape architects, fence builders, and the military to find and mark property lines without chopping down plants, shrubs, and trees. Existing surveying technologies like global positioning systems or GPS and microwave radar like total stations require a clear line of sight to satellites above [GPS] or property corners along the ground [total stations] and therefore require the use of bulldozers, chainsaws, and machetes to remove trees and shrubs on the boundary. RTR or Real Time Ranging Technology helps save and protect the environment since it penetrates foliage leaving plants, shrubs, and trees unharmed while marking property lines or collecting data points for land mapping. RTR’s new radio wave technology works in the open as well, cutting down labor costs and time spent on projects in the field. RTR allows general contractors and fencing companies to construct buildings and fences on or inside of property boundaries without crossing onto adjoining properties.
RTR’s drone integrated system aka SkyRanger allows land surveyors, civil engineers, building contractors, landscape architects, fence builders, and the military to define boundaries without destroying plants, shrubs, and trees. Our RTR drones also capture aerial photographs and video as well as locating x, y, z coordinate points even in the thickest foliage making it the perfect green solution for mapping large areas.
As with any new technology, RTR or Real Time Ranging systems will become smaller and more streamlined over time making it perfect for a basic homeowner model sold at local hardware stores.
RTR’s patented new radio wave based foliage penetrating technology is currently available for licensing by land surveying equipment manufacturers.
